1972 Sportster For Sale

I have this bone stock 72 xlch cream puff....This thing is super nice and runs excellent.The 72 was the last of the 33 mm front end and drum brakes,it was also the first year for the 1000 cc motor.They called it the " time machine".If you are interested email @ mikedavis70@hotmail.com

Ooooohhhhh! Man thats a nice bike! Last year the motor wasnt tied to the frame too... makes it easy for number switchin.

Very cool. I have a '72 so I'd like to check it out.

BTW, The engine and the frame do have the same VIN #. Harley started doing that in '70. Trust me I also have a '70 FLH.

Huh... that's weird. My uncles '71 doesn't have a number on the frame anywhere. And I know it's not hot, he's owned it since '71. My '73 has a big lug on the right side downtube right under the neck casting that has the vin number stamped in it. I read it on a website a while back too. www.sportster.org/history/. I thought it was the gospel since my uncles '71 didn't have a vin on the frame and my '73 did. Should believe everything you read on the internet I guess... I stand corrected.

Yes, 1969 is the last year for no number frames. ALL harleys after 1969 have a frame number. In Daytona they have cops walk up and down the beach checking frames, vin fonts and things like that. If they see sketchy numbers or no numbers they'll take the bike if you don't have some stupid form.
