I am curious as to why you have the German Nazi "SS" symbol on the buzzard's helmet, and on other images related to your blog?

Mostros the reason is simple. There is no reason. It looked cool on the design so I left it.I am pretty sure that "most" people who are into bikes & the culture these days know that the Nazi symbols like the warbird, swastika and the SS does not carry the same meaning now as it did then... unless you are very clear about waht you want it to mean. This is not the case. It's an old buzzard with a war helmet on...maybe he took it from a dead nazi??These symbols have many uses and meanings in different cultures. Here are a few:
Archaeological record
Historical use in the East
Hinduism
Buddhism
Jainism
Other Asian traditions
Historical use in the West
Classical Antiquity
Pre-Christian Europe and folk culture
Baltic
Celtic
Finnish Germanic
Sami
Slavic
Medieval and Early Modern Europe
Native American traditions
Western use in the early 20th century

Post-WWII stigmatization in Western countries
European Union

Finland
Hungary
Poland
Iceland
Ireland
Brazil
United States
Satirical use
Controversy over Asian products
Contemporary use in Asia
Mongolia
Japan
Indian Subcontinent
Taiwan
Tajikistan New religious movements
Theosophical Society
Raƫlian Movement
Ananda Marga
Falun Gong
Neopaganism
Thank you for your concerns.I hope I did not offend you.

Thank you for the thorough explanation. Since I ordered a t-shirt, I just wanted to be sure that my efforts weren't supporting intolerance. I was inclined to think that the graphic symbol was just for aesthetic reasons and not as a symbol of oppression... however one can easily understand if someone were to think the latter. Happy building/riding. I continue to enjoy your blog.

Any chance I can get one of these with the buzzard on the front?
