Sad Times // No Friends

Ok.. is just stealing or I am just sensitive. This is my original design created by Adam Nickel for me.... not just some random 70's chopper stuff on the Internet that is there to take. You would think people would check out where ideas come from before they act on them. No Friends..I can see why! Pretty Lame.

  2. I know the feeling all to well. A lot of people don't understand until it happens to them.

You work hard to come up with a design and some a-hole just lifts it.

A lot of t-shirt screeners, hat makers etc. employee's print up bootlegged stuff after hours. Many are the same shops that do the official licensed products. A couple of years ago I was set up next to a guy at the Dave Mann show who did just that. He told me how it's done all the time. He was selling black baseball hats for $10 with Harley, Ford, Chevy, and sports logos and was proud of it. People were buying it all day no questions asked. He sells at the Long Beach swap too.

  5. Yeah, action needs to be taken.

First Ian, now you. Who's next?

  6. Wow, it's crazy how much this pisses me off. I also have had designs lifted and screened on some other company's T's. Only in my case, it was by someone much bigger (business wise) than me. Creative ideas / designs will always be stolen by the talentless. It bums me out as an artist, and that it's happened to a friend. San Diego is not so far away, perhaps a cease and desist, delivered in person, with a few of your buddies? Good luck with this Mike.

  7. it could be as simple as forwarding them a link to this blog post..and just ask them to do "the right thing"

    who knows..

  8. I just emailed them a link to this blog; and asked them to "do the right thing". In the web age everyone knows how fast bad news spreads. On the basis of that I got a super-fast claim settlement from an airline on a damaged bass guitar because they were all-too-aware of the video that went viral "United breaks guitars". good luck!

  10. I'm not a legal expert by any stretch of anyone's imagination, but I'm fairly certain illustrations fall under copyright law just like music. Using someone's illustration without their permission (and profiting from it) is not considered fair use. Definitely shouldn't let it slide...

    Mike,

Thanks for the heads up. I see that our inbox is full of hate e-mails. Understandable. As far as the design. It actually was a failure on our store and never made it through to production. Thanks for your time and happy holidays

    Kind Regards
